Victorian LLEN Network
In August we were priviledged to host a meeting of the Victorian LLEN Network here in Echuca. Twenty-five LLENs met in Kickham's Mill Restaurant at Bendigo TAFE's Echuca Campus. A full agenda included presentations from YACVic, the Australian Centre for Rural Entrepeneurship, the Department of Education and Training and the Victorian Aboriginal Education Association Inc.
Each LLEN shared information on their current projects and working groups tackled solutions to common issues. The Network meetings are a great way to share ideas and help each other.
Together we celebrated achieving 125% of Key Performance Indicator 1 in our Structured Workplace Learning contract. KPI1 requires us to advertise at least 6,000 Structured Workplace Learning opportunities on the web Portal during the year. We have already exceeded that target and are well on the way to achieving KPI2, which is to have at least 4,600 of those opportunities used. Across the state local businesses are assisting young people to gain valuable experience by working with the LLENs to list their workplacement opportunities on the portal.
