Hands on Learning
Hands on Learning is an innovative education program that caters to the different ways young people learn, helping students build confidence, engage and achieve at school. Students thrive developing the creativity, self-discipline and interpersonal skills vital for the 21st century workforce.
Students build self-esteem, friendships, a sense of belonging and become more content at school.
Students attend Hands on Learning one day a week fostering teamwork and leadership. Students and artisan teachers share meals and work together on meaningful projects that benefit the school and local community.
Under Campaspe Youth Partnerships, five local schools are collaborating on implementing Hands on Learning at four locations, and sharing one artisan teacher across their programs. Programs will commence by the end of Term 2.
Jamie Harding is employed under the Partnerships to undertake the preparation work across the five schools (Echuca College, Echuca Specialist School, Kyabram P-12 College, Rushworth P-12 College and St Joseph’s College).
